Discovered busking on the streets of Manchester, 17-year-old Alex Spencer has quickly emerged as one of the UK’s most exciting new songwriters. Fusing catchy guitar riffs with his raw, street-savvy voice, Alex’s music captures the energy and emotion of youth, with lyrics that speak to the highs and lows of growing up. 2024 has been a breakthrough year for Alex. His sophomore EP “There’s Gotta Be More” has earned widespread acclaim from tastemaker outlets like CLASH Magazine, alongside notable radio support, including a live session with John Kennedy on Radio X and multiple single of the week honours on XS Manchester. His track “Love and Let Go” was also chosen by Chris Hawkins as BBC Radio 6’s Track of Dawn. On stage, Alex brings the same natural charisma that first won fans over as a busker. He’s already played major festivals like Sound City and Neighbourhood and supported some of the UK’s hottest acts, including The K’s, Jamie Webster, The Lathums, Jake Bugg, and Miles Kane. In his home city of Manchester, he’s sold out venues such as the Deaf Institute and Academy 3, and has even made history as the first artist to perform live on Sky Sports’ news. 2024 has proven to be a huge year for Alex, with his track ‘Nightmares’ being included on the EA Sports FC25 Soundtrack, propelling him to a global audience. He’s also been featured on BBC News, ITV Granada, and The Premier League’s Global Show, solidifying his place as one of the most exciting young artists in the UK. “Here’s to the rise of the young, we’re what the future becomes.”
